Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, it’s officially the start of the holiday season. I swear, the kids were just trick or treating and now there are Christmas trees in the stores, a wreath on my neighbor’s door, and my kids are making their lists for Santa. Personally, I LOVE this time of year and can’t wait for it to get started. Maybe I could do without the Christmas music just yet, but other than that I’m good to go!! I think the thing I love most about the holidays are all the flavors that come with them. New England Coffee company nailed it this season with all the coffee flavors they’ve rolled out for this winter. Just the names alone scream “THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!” Mocha mint….which is featured below in our Mocha Mint Milkshake, Gingerbread Cookie, and Eggnog. How amazing do all of those flavors sound? Coffee is one of my most favorite things in the world anyway, but throw in flavors like Gingerbread cookie? Amazing. Each flavor comes in either K-cups (which would make cute stocking stuffers for the coffee lover on your list) or 11 oz bags. I have tried each of the flavors and have to say they are all pretty exceptional. Check out New England Coffee Shop for info on their whole line of coffee and where you can pick some up near you. New England Coffee company is celebrating 100 years of brewing exceptional coffee this year with their #YouAreExtraordinary campaign and is extending the celebration to include their customers. Check out the info below for info on how to be entered to win a free Keurig single cup coffee brewer with a selection of New England Coffee to go with it. And definitely stop by the extraordinary pics on their Instagram and Facebook for up to date happenings.
So, inspired by the Mocha Mint flavor, I decided to make a coffee milkshake to spice things up a bit for desert around here. Mocha+Mint+Coffee+Ice cream….not to hard to see where I am going with this one. Make a big batch and pour these for your guests next time you have company. I think you’ll be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t love a good old fashion milk shake for dessert, especially one that’s spiked with some delicious coffee! This one is really easy to accommodate if you are avoiding dairy too…simply use coconut ice cream and your favorite dairy free milk (I always have almond milk in the fridge because I just like it for smoothies, shakes etc.) Dress up the shake with a little whipped cream and crushed candy canes and you’ve got a holiday shake that is a totally different and fun dessert. Enjoy and happy holidays!!!!
