It’s hard to believe it, but the 4th of July is right around the corner. My family spends the long weekend on the lake, so that means tons of sun, swimming, and cook outs with friends and family. I think the 4th might be one of our favorite holidays…we are lucky enough to have family and friends that all live on one little lake, so we spend the weekend hopping from one get together to another, ending the night watching a huge display of fireworks from my father-in-law’s boat. The kids love the 4th because they know they get to swim all day and stay up late to watch the fireworks. But I think the adults all love the 4th for the cook outs and BBQ’s. Burgers are pretty standard fare when it comes to 4th of July cook outs. And while I’ve never met a burger I didn’t like, plain old burgers get pretty boring at this point in the summer. It’s pretty hard to come up with a new burger recipe that is not only affordable for a crowd, but that the kids and the adults will both like. That’s why I’m excited to share with you this recipe for Firecracker Burgers from Giant Food Stores. These burgers have a TON of flavor and are anything but boring. Green chilies, onions, and garlic really bump up the flavor without going over board, and keep these burgers super juicy and delicious. I recently made these for my family and friends and the kids and the adults both loved them. And that is a RARE thing! These would be perfect to entertain with this coming 4th of July weekend, no matter how big the crowd you are serving. We topped them with with fresh lettuce and tomato, but they would be amazing with some sauteed mushrooms and onions. Or, if you wanted to spice them up a bit, fresh jalapenos and avocado would be delicious.
