I haven't tried it yet with cherries. But I think that's a great idea! I've found that it usually takes a few times before you figure out the right balance with a substitute ingredient. Little things like the cooking time can change, so you always have to keep an extra eye on things as you experiment.

This looks great! Thank you. I'm wondering if you've tried it with any other fruit? It's cherry season here and I would love to try this topping on cherries but maybe the cooking time would be shorter? Any tips greatly appreciated!

Hi! I saw your recipe for the Skinny Chocolate Shake on ziplist and just made it. YUM! My husband and i loved it. I made it using our vitamix and it was perfect in about 45 seconds. This prompted me to go in on your website and look around. So many fabulous recipes! I've bookmarked your site and will be on it alot, I can tell. Please clarify one thing on this Apple Crisp recipe. When you say to use almond MEAL, are you referring to the remains you have after making almond milk? I'm hoping that's what you mean because I make a half gallon of almond milk 3 times a week and the meal just wins up in the compost pile. I would love to use it instead. Thanks for the GREAT website!

Technically no. Almond flour is ground extremely fine to look just like flour and ground almonds can be a little more chunky, however for the purposes of this recipe, either would work just fine!! It is delicious!
