Coconut Water Smoothie
How about we get things started with a couple of fun facts! Fun Fact 1) if you are not into the whole workout thing, you can also drink coconut water to help cure a hangover. And fun fact number 2) doctors use coconut water in some third-world countries to save human lives from dehydration. Pretty cool!
Something else pretty cool: a company called Cocozia contacted us a few weeks ago to review their 100% Organic Coconut Water. We quickly said yes please and were pretty excited about trying it out. But my husband was even more excited about the whole coconut water thing! He kept asking how soon does it get here? How many bottles are they sending? Can I pretty please try one or two or three?
And no, he was not planning to party hard that weekend. Unless you consider heavy leg day at the garage gym a party then rock on! The truth is, he works out like a beast. He comes home completely drenched in sweat and is not allowed to so much as look at our furniture until he takes a shower. He is going to kill me for telling you guys this, but on a couple of occasions, I have had to pick him up from the gym because he had practically passed out from dehydration and/or low blood sugar.
Come to find out, we should have kept this coconut water on hand all along! It is packed with tons of essential electrolytes (like calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium and sodium) that the human body needs to function. This makes it is far more effective at rehydrating the human body than any other drink. Hence why doctors (and our-future-selves !) will use coconut water to save people’s lives from dehydration.
Here are a few of the cool things we liked about Cocozia’s Organic Coconut Water:
1. There is no pulp, no added sugars, no preservatives and it is not from concentrate
2. Gluten free, vegan, paleo, kosher and non-GMO verified
3. The shipping through Amazon was super-fast and arrived in less than 48 hours
4. It comes in a handy dandy package of 12 portable bottles that each have their own straw
You can drink coconut water as is or you can use it to make other yummy things like tropical smoothies. To make this one, we used a full bottle of coconut water, one frozen banana and a handful of frozen mango, peaches and berries. Honest to gosh it tasted like a tropical vacation! Mm mm mm.
- 1 bottle of Cocozia Coconut water (16.9 oz.)
- 1 frozen banana
- handful frozen peaches, berries, and mango
- Place everything in a high-speed blender for about 30 seconds then serve immediately.
